Passport to Success

During this 12-week program, you will learn practical knowledge and skills from guest speakers representing a variety of community organizations. If you attend at least 10 activities, you will receive a certificate of participation. All activities take place on FRIDAYS, September 16 – November 25 at 1:00pm (unless otherwise noted). Generally, online workshops last 1 hour, in-person activities last 2 hours.

During these sessions, a combination of in-person and online activities, we will tour the Guelph Civic Museum, enjoy a potluck gathering at Riverside Park, explore techniques for improving mental well-being through art and nature with Guelph Enabling Garden and through music with Wellington Music Therapy. We will also have guest speakers discussing a variety of topics that include:

  • Employment standards in Canada and self-employment – 2nd Chance Employment
  • Financial literacy
  • Public safety, fraud and scams – Guelph Police Services
  • Resume writing and how to apply for jobs – ISGW Employment Coordinator

We are pleased to include the Orientation to Ontario workshop series hosted by ISGW as part of the Passport to Success program. Orientation to Ontario provides an opportunity for participants to learn valuable information about Ontario and the Guelph community. Wednesday, September 14 and Thursday, September 15, 4:30pm – 7:00pm (online) Plan to attend both online sessions.
