DESCRIPTION:Immigrant Services is pleased to offer free income tax preparation to those who have a modest income and a simple tax situation through CRA’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Preparation program. \nIt is important to file your income tax return every year to continue to receive any benefits that you are eligible for.\nAppointments are available in-person\, virtually using Zoom and by document drop off. \nISGW clients and community members can book an appointment to have their tax return completed by a volunteer on Saturdays during March and April. \nPlease note that service is not available on Saturday\, March 18 or April 8 \nMulti-language service: We can help you in your own language. Adjusting to a new country can present a list of challenges\, which if unaddressed\, can lead to negative outcomes. These challenges include: \n\nIntergenerational disconnect\nFinancial instability\nContact with the criminal justice system\nLack of belonging\n\nOur guest speaker: Nabeel Rahman\, M.A.\, R.S.W. Registered Social Worker\, Positive Thought Counselling Services \nThis workshop is developed to assist parents and caregivers in helping youth as they transition from adolescence to\nadulthood.
