Youth Leadership Project 2026
A huge congratulations to ISGW Youth Leadership Project 2026 students!
Immigrant Services Guelph-Wellington organizes a Youth Leadership Project (YPL) annually to engage newcomer youth in community service and build their leadership capacity. Participants of this year’s program used the leadership and public speaking skills they developed over the course of 6 training sessions to give back to the community! Sixteen students had the chance to pitch activity ideas to The Grove Hubs’ Youth Council or facilitate a story time and craft session at the Children’s Reading Room.
We were excited and proud to see that the ideas pitched by YLP students were included in The Grove Hub’s Woolwich April Programming Calendar! We were also so happy to have seen families attend the sessions at the Children’s Reading Room!
The YLP students not only received volunteer hours for this year’s Project, but they have also been invited to volunteer at various summer programs!
We would like to thank our community partners who supported this year’s Youth Leadership Project: Children’s Reading Room, Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition, Guelph Police Service, Toastmasters Guelph, and The Grove Hubs
This project was funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
